United Medical Center (Washington, DC) chose PatientWorks eForms Automation Solution to eliminate pre-printed registration forms while also producing bar-coded armband and labels for patient identification and safety improvements.

PatientWorks will integrate with the Hospital’s Health Information System (MediTech) automating registration documentation and producing bar-coded armbands to be used with bedside scanning solutions. United Medical Center will utilize PatientWorks to capture the patient’s photo to be displayed on the armband, increasing patient safety and identification.

United Medical Center is a 184-bed hospital (under new ownership since November 2007) that offers community based services for residents residing east of the Anacostia River, and specifically to residents of Wards 7 & 8 and the adjacent Maryland zip codes.

PatientWorks® provides a family of software that enables Healthcare Facilities to build print, merge and form-fill applications that combine data from the Hospital Information Systems (HIS) with user defined forms to produce automated and on-demand laser, fax, electronic or email (PGP Encrypted) output.
