Eisenhower Medical Center Does It Again!
In January of 2010, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California came online with PatientWorks 4 and KioskWorks. They've done it again by further integrating PatientWorks to improve their workflow for both their staff and patients!
Eisenhower Medical Center (“EMC”) in Rancho Mirage, CA has installed self-service kiosks developed by PatientWorks in the reception area of the Delores Hope Outpatient Care Center. Patients can check themselves in at the kiosks, with or without appointments and also sign consent forms and process insurance co-payments. For the staff, the kiosk software improves efficiency, tracks patient movements and collects important metrics such as wait times and survey results. DHOC is the second facility at Eisenhower to utilize kiosks. Earlier in the year, the Argyros Health Center began using kiosks throughout the facility. EMC's own IS staff built the wayfinding and staff directory content using the kiosk tools provided by the vendor.
Features include:
- Patient Check In via Driver’s License, Credit/Debit Card, Manually, and EMC’s own Passport ID card (printed via PatientWorks)
- Check In for both Scheduled Appointments and Walk Ins
- Co Pay collection via Credit/Debit cards or check given to the registrar
- Signature capture – Consents, Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire, (and soon, ABN)
- Wayfinding
- Physician Directory
- Bill Payment by scanning the barcode on the Patient Statement
- Healthy Living Community Outreach programs and services information
- Patient Survey
- Coupon reward for using the kiosk
- Queue Navigator used by Registration, Lab and Radiology to monitor patient statuses
Today's GoLive was successful and the patients at the Delores Hope Center are now checking in to their appointments using KioskWorks.
